It’s typical of me. When I want something that I can’t have, it makes me want it that much more. Probably to a greater extent than when I originally wanted it. But that’s just normal right? It’s human nature to want what you can’t have. That was 100% the case with this parka with embroidered floral detailing. I saw several bloggers wearing versions of this Gucci-inspired piece last year and when I finally tracked it down, I realized I missed my chance because it was being pulled from retailers for being too close to the original design.
This is going to sound so dramatic but I was SO gutted! But since I couldn’t get over how cute the jacket was it turned into something like a game for me and when I successfully managed to get my hands on it, the game would be over and I’d be the winner. It took almost a year but I finally found it here and I was so excited that it was finally going to be mine.
The first time I wore it, I paired it with jeans, a white tee and sneakers for a more casual look. But the day we shot these photos, we were meeting up with some friends for brunch so I decided to play off of the feminine embroidery by pairing it with a skirt (which i wore as a dress) and belted it around the waist. Later, we decided to stroll around the city and grab some coffee so I switched my heels out for sneakers and it still looked worked with the overall vibe.
