For the past two weeks I’ve been visiting my parents in California and what makes it extra special is that my sister who lives in London is also visiting. The last time my husband, my sister, her husband, and my adorable nieces were all in California together was three years ago at my wedding — before my nephew was even born!
My sister wanted to introduce her baby boy to all of our California friends and what better way to honor my little British cutie than with afternoon tea!? Because I’m slightly obsessed with tea parties, I jumped at the opportunity to take control and I had so much fun creating the table for this party. And when it all came together, I love love LOVE the way everything turned out. I mean, how darling are the tea pot floral arrangements? I swear that’s a Pinterest dream come true right there.
Aside from all the pretty details I decided to keep the food simple and delicious. On the menu we had an assortment of yummy desserts including macarons and blueberry cookie butter cheesecake bites, as well as tasty savory finger-foods such as arugula cheese-and-cracker bites and cream cheese roll-ups stuffed with spinach and peppers. The light and fresh menu truly complemented the occasion perfectly.
Although we only a few hours to put it all together, I’m so happy with the way everything turned out. It was a lovely afternoon — even if the guest of honor slept the whole time, haha!
