Growing up, I always loved to dress up as a princess and host tea parties for my stuffed animals and dolls. My affinity for tea parties never really went away and so there was no better way to celebrate my birthday this year than by having afternoon tea with my friends at The Langham.
From the minute I stepped into the beautiful hotel, I was instantly drawn to all the beautiful details and knew I was in for a treat. The tea service was exquisite and the savory selection of cucumber sandwiches and smoked salmon on rye in the first course was not only delicious but garnished to perfection and presented to us so beautifully. After that, we had a wonderful assortment of the prettiest desserts, pastries, and warm raisin soaked scones with clotted cream and berry jam brought out to enjoy with our tea.
The service was impeccable and the live music from the piano completed the ambiance. And when the pianist played the happy birthday song especially for me, it brought back childhood memories and made me feel as though I was the princess at the tea party all over again. I couldn’t have had a better end to my weekend long birthday celebrations than with afternoon tea at The Langham — it was truly a lovely afternoon filled with dainty foods, delicious tea, and beautiful memories.
